JF/CLS A340-500/-600 FSX SP2 This review is for the Commercial Level Simulations A340-500 and -600. Throughout this review I will also be evaluating the installation methods, product quality, and value for money. Installation I have the boxed version, from Just Flight, and installation is a simple setup file, I was never prompted to dig out any CD keys. This may be because this was the CD Version, I can’t comment on the downloaded version, but installation was painless. Fresh into FSX, the aircraft tends to suffer a few technical issues, such as missing gauges, blacked out windows, and subsiding exterior sounds. This is down to the product being developed well before Service Pack 2 was introduced, which is now considered standard install, and an FSX installation would be unusual without it. A few downloads later from the CLS website, and it’s good to fly.

Cockpit callouts seem accurate, but I feel they are too sensitive, and could be toned down. I also feel they are too loud. The “2500” callout is far too loud, and seems to have some sort of grinding sound before the callout.

Value for money The cheapest price I found for this add-on was £20.40 on Just Flight. I feel that this may be slightly higher than it’s worth; however, this is for both FS2004 and FSX. It is on the other hand one of the lowest prices for a payware addon available on today’s market, new releases are around £35 and up. Overall, I would say this product is about 6/10 Product Page.
